At times I will brew a pot of ginger tea. I add freshly grated ginger to water, bring it to a boil, and then allow it to simmer for about 20 minutes. It has lots of tang and is a warming, satisfying cup of tea. One night I took a cup of steaming ginger tea to my bath and enjoyed a relaxing soak by candlelight. This poem resulted.
MEDITATION IN GINGER
Bath's vapor trellised
with that of candle flame
and ginger tea.
Wavering candlelight
walking tight rope along tile grout --
rhythmically reaching for
balance.
Shadow bisects grouting
and stills in dukkha repose. . .
oxygen tangents the flame,
disturbing elusive
quiet.
Flame meditates in metaphor
as ginger steam entwines
with mirage of
stillness.

Love your poem and the cute illustration (did you do it???).
I am sipping some plain old Lipton tea at the moment - great on this cold, cloudy day (feels like Christmas Day, it's so cold). Almost feels like it is going to snow.
(Loved that Edna St. Vincent M. quote on your park post, btw.)
